    Hi,

I was trying to do a simple flocking in Cinema 4D and couldn’t figure out how. I normally work in Softimage, and its really simple to set up a goal and have particles flock towards it. How would I do it in C4D ?

    Thanks

There were plugins for the old particles. If you are working with TP you can do it by hand with xpresso but there are a number of presets you can access with the Content Browser (provided all the sets are there check out Maxon’s downloads if you need to). I don’t know if that’s as much control as you need but each preset has a wide range of settings and take note that the order that they appear in the OM is important, they are assessed top down. A crude quickie example.

    Hi Brian,

Thanks a lot. I opened the content browser and found a host of presets for thinking particles. But when I drag them onto my Object workspace, they are empty. Do I have to create or add my own particle data to the preset ?

    Thanks

double-click and it should just load into the current scene

    Hi Brian,

I really new at this so I can’t figure out. Do I create a new TP system first and then open the preset ? It’s not working or me…the preset has its own Xpresso board. Do I connect my Pstorm to this preset ? Also if i want the particles align to spline, in TP Banking, could you please point me out the basic steps ?

    Thanks

the presets that are not emitters in their own right just work on what ever TP particles are in the scene (so they will work on your PStorms). You control which particles by setting which particle group (All if you want all of them) the preset should affect.
