The G5 with Os 9.2 recognizes just the first card in the slot.

I’m just testing. Putting the cards on protect, the cards show up on the Mac as discs. Even on my G4 500 Mhz still running 9.2 the cards show as a disc. In FCP4.5 you can’t import the MFX files. Do you have to inport each files, or does final cut the link with soud ?

    Jesse, this is great,

you’re the only one with some work experience.
I’ll tell you my workflow, and you can tell me, whether it will work or not.
First you shoot material. Then I’ll protect the cards. I’ll plug in the camera via USB and put the camera on USB. Then the cards show up as Hard discs. I’ll copy the lot to a laptop. The cards will be then reformatted and you can shoot again. AT home: The material then will be copied on a Raid. From the raid at home FCP5 can import the data.
    Right or wrong?

This is easy. If you have the cropped picture in the 4:3 sequence, you start a new sequence in 16:9, copy your cropped sequence in the new sequence and now it is 16:9. You handle the material as a real 16:9.

    Hi,

I’ve just got a brand new 800 on my desk. The 800 is the same camera as the 900. So why waste money. It works exactly like with tapes, but the workflow is amazing. No time for batching. The camera does a real 16:9 and to me, the 2/3 inch signal is better than the new HDV stuff.
What else do you want to know?

    Rainer
