I don’t want to be the hero. FCP works best with snow leopard and lion.

October 22, 2013 at 7:41 pm in reply to: Converting ProRes to DNxHD

It’s easy if you’ve got Avid MC. You just drag your Prores file into a Avid Project and it starts converting into The DNxHD codec.

You have to transfer the contents folder plus the last clip file of one card into one seperate folder, then open all the folders belonging together and voilà the clips will come together.

No, you have to send the original FCP files with the new sound settings to compressor.

    Hi Andy,

if you set your audio levels right in FCP let’s say -6db, you audio is fine in Compressor. I would go over again.

    Hi Paul,

why that is, I have no idea. You can relink. There is also a good program – from digital rebellion. A must for every FCP user. Did you try the obvious – trash preferences and repair permissions in OSX?
Perhaps that helps. With digital rebellion you can repair corrupt FCP project files,

    Hi Job,

WD greens? I’m surprised that they work at all in an array. We just use Ultrastars 3TB for our arrays and even these enterprise HD’s fail from time to time.

October 17, 2013 at 6:49 pm in reply to: Eliminating flicker in still photos

    First of all:
Photos should be tiff, 8bit RGB in the size you use them (16/9 SD means 1920×1080 pixel 72dpi). If the photo is too hard from contrast you use gauss blur 0,5-0,7. If its still flickering you throw the anti flicker filter on it or/plus frame shift +/-1 frame.

    cheers
