What if very little compression is done to an MPEG2? Say only 5% – 10%, would that be okay?

Just figured it out, I have to Change the Recompress setting in the Right Window to YES!
Select the line you want to recommpress, go to right window under VIDEO, and click on Recompress to change to Yes!

Well, it’s distorting! I thought Analog was more forgiving than Digital! So how do I make sure I’m not going over?

Actually, the AVI file itself is over 0db! Not just the Tape.

I use Vegas 5’s Capture Video/Print to Tape.

Yes I’m using the Full Version of Vegas. Thanks for reminding me of the Excalibur option.
Certainly a great idea and reasonably priced. I may just get it for the next project.

By the way, I just notice that there is a bunch of stuff in the Temp Renders Folder, which I had just cleared before, so it’s there, but the project doesn’t pick it up when opened!
