Conforming (CinemaTools), do not process the picture, so whatever option you chose you will end up with the same original quality.
Compressor only makes a real Conforming when you chose the “Rate Conversion: Fast (Nearest Frame)”. Any other option will process the image.

Do that in Compressor too. THE FOOTAGE WON”T RUN SLOWER (that happens when you conform).
You have to set Compressor (Frame Control ON) “Rate Conversion: Fast” and “Set duration 100% of the Source”. Compressor will drop the necessary frames to reduce the time base.

Why don’t you just use “Self-contained” movies and get rid of the Render files?
Using Ref movies you always risk getting in troubles.

That’s very strange, but often the QT info is not very accurate.
Have you had a look to the file on FC Browser?

What you have in the B&W file is a matte.
You need to put your image on layer 3, the matte on layer 2 and the background you want on layer 1.
Then set your picture (layer 3) as “Travel matte LUMA”.
Done.
But start by converting your files to Prores.
FCP doesn’t likes MP4.

Wrong again. If you put 50fps into a 25fps timeline, and slow it 50%…it will take the 25fps it is playing, and then slow THOSE frames down. It’ll repeat frames…it won’t be smooth. “
In fact will drop half of the frames and then will interpolate new frames.
Bad business.
The only proper way is by changing the time base of the original file. Slow mo and full original quality.

People do not read books and people don’t buy full albums anymore.

p50 footage is shoot like that to be played at 50 images per second getting smoother picture.
If you wan’t it slow down, the clip needs to be played at 25fps but you get that only on cameras with “overcranking”: Shoot p50 but the resulting file is flagged to be played automatically at p25, so 50% speed.
You have plain p50 clips that will be played at that speed unless the speed flag is changed to p25, getting the slow down.

That depends of the codec you have used to transcode the footage.
Your original footage is already very compress and you have added more compression. No good.
Transcode to Prores or prores LT.
