FC is doing nothing wrong.
Is QT who can not interpret properly your pixels aspect ratio, so looks distorted on QT Player.
Don’t worry, the movie is OK.
When you bring it to DVDSTP, check the “16×9” button.

You need to pan both channel, one full left and the other full right, otherwise the will mix.

Just to point that wasn’t PP, but Apple the culprit.
You know? I was about to retire from video editing, and FC’s EOL has speeded up the process.
I will end up my editing career with FC.

FC is a pre-metadata era application.

I’m not a fan of the H264/Mp4/AVCHD family for acquisition, but being the data rate of Prores422 some five folds higher than the average codecs used by consumer/prosumers camcorder, the need for storage will deter most people to buy this camera.

Whenever there is something in the sequence that do not match the sequence settings needs to be rendered. However you should be able to play your time-line in real time without rendering.
You may need to tweak the RT options.
