I also discovered that if I export it as a wmv file, it plays fine with no stuttering.

That could work for the dvd, but not for playing it live at the general session.

Any thoughts?

I used DV NTSC codec.

This video has two uses – it will be burned to dvd, and will also be shown live in a large general session at a convention. (will be run off of DVCam at the event).

Hi, Jeff! Sorry for the delay in this reply…last week was a whirlwind getting that project out the door.

That solution did not completely solve my problem, but it definitely pointed me in the right direction to finding the solution.

And yes, I did use H.264 compression, which worked great!

Hi, Vince! I tried exporting the wmv file to an uncompressed avi file as you suggested, but it crashed again, about 12% of the way through.

I had also tried exporting as frames, but that crashed about 10% of the way through.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you, Vince! That makes perfect sense now.

I had seen the term “handle” before, but didn’t know what that meant.

I overlapped the clips on 2 tracks, and it worked perfectly.
