The problem I have with this is I also need to export stills (tiffs) with alpha channels and so the avid does need to have the “invert alpha” checked. I work in news as the graphic artist so it’s the editors that are actually importing in the graphics and would need to be switching back and forth import settings. We’re trying to figure out the best solution to make sure everything is as consistent as possible. Is using the AVID DNxHD the best codec to use when exporting a movie or should I try something else so that the editor can simply leave the import setting on “invert alpha” and not have to go back and forth. I’ve been told that quicktime animation with alpha doesn’t work with AVID anymore.
