I guess i’m back to saving the way i did in my avid days as well. I almost never let a project get nearly that big. i try to break them down as i go.

it seems to be intermittent, which is scarier in some ways.

If anyone is still interested, the problem turned out to be linked to capture settings. It was set to capture 4 tracks of audio, but there were only 2 tracks on the tape. I’m not sure why, but when we turned off 3&4 the problem went away.
