while i’m posting, has anyone had issues with saving projects? I closed final cut without saving until the “do you want to save project” window came up. I clicked yes. save. the next day, i came in to find that the project had not actually saved. the last bits of work i did weren’t there. the project file showed that it was last modified the last time i saved before closing. (almost an hour, i’m embarrassed to say.) I had to go to restore project and luckily the autosave worked. now i’m back to compulsively saving every few minutes. I’ve noticed issues with FCP/OS 10.4.3 and date and time of saving not registering. I don’t know the cause. Anyone else have similar issues?

    thanks

One of our editors swore that it kept happening to him while working on a large project… I could never recreate it…. but i guess there could be intermittent problems?

it seems to be intermittent, which is scarier in some ways.

thanks, at least now i feel like i might not be crazy.

It has happened to me once, on a big project nearing 100MB in size. It forced me to relearn my habit of never quitting with a project open. I close each open project and then quit FCP. I used to be in the habit of doing that all the time but somehow I drifted away…probably my back-to-AVID year of editing.

I guess i’m back to saving the way i did in my avid days as well. I almost never let a project get nearly that big. i try to break them down as i go.

Upgade to 5.1. I just saw you’re on 5.0.4….. we haven’t had any save problems whatsoever with 5.1. Project files getting near 200MB (takes a coon’s age to load, though)
