Thanks for the tip I will give this a try. Is there any way to do the exact same thing and substitute either a vector or bitmap instead of the text? I did find a few good arrows to use in WingDings font, so maybe that will work.
    Thanks again,

Thanks a million. Seems very logical once I tried it.
Last question. I can tweak things so that the trailing flow stays somewhat behind the path, but is there a way to constrain the directionality of the flow so that it doesn’t spread or stray from the path.

Perhaps I would be better off using a stroke effect combined with fractal noise or something to give me a similar effect.

    Thanks for your help!!!

Youo mention other techniques work better. Do you have something in mind that might put me on the right track.

    Thanks,

Is it possible to assign the position of the producer to a path that I draw with a bezier curve?

    Thanks,

    Thanks for the reply.
Basically I would like to draw a bezier path with the pen tool and set particles to flow along this path with the ability to control particle velocity, look, size, direction etc…
I typically create particle motion in 3d, but would like the same kind of control in AE to create similar effects in the 2d world. Ideally, I would like to be able to use any object as a particle.

    For instance:
several fish swimming up a curvy stream,
or a grainy liquid traveling inside a curvy tube.

    That kind of thing.

    Thanks,
