Not sure how they are implemented in ffmpeg.
Do you know what container and audio/video codec does your source have? May be you can put a short sample somewhere to download? It depends in source but in some case we use ffmbc instead of ffmpeg but it doesn’t encode ProRes AFAIK.
We have used also AviSynth files for ffmpeg or VirtualDub input.
Specially if we needed to encode from Red R3D files for offline editing.I will put the Preset Import Button on my TO DO list.
Thanks for the kind words.

December 15, 2011 at 6:16 pm in reply to: FFMPEG supports now 10bit ProRes HQ de- & encodingWe have a Windows GUI program for ffmpeg what does include also presets for ProRes.
It is portable and free.It has patchp rocessing, parallel processing and is able to control several more programs like ffmbc, VirtualDub, x264, HandBrake etc.

MetaSAN doesn’t replace your SAN.
It just manages what client can write at whitch disk cluster.
Usually two clients can’t write the same file at the same time.
With some software you can even start editing the material
at the same time when the capture of the same material on another
client is not yet finished. Just one example. The other way is that you divide your disk into several volumes
and only one client has write access to a volume.
But everyone can read every volume.
It is managed by giving every volume his own write rights. The first method has lot of benefits but you have to buy a
special software for every seat who wants write access. -
You need some sharing software.
We use Tiger Technology’s MetaSAN for example.Priit

Mike,
We have used MetaSAN for a while on PC
and are totally satisfied.I would be glad answer any more future question you may have.

You should have only two SCSI bus reset messages after boot.
There are two items in my mind.
May be you have done it already.ARC-6060 doesn’t have inside termination,
you have to terminate this end of SCSI cable by yourself.
This item is badly documented in manual. Not all U320 labelled cables are equal quality.
May be it is worth of testing another cable from different vendor.Just trying to help.

We do use two different ARC-6060’s without problems.
Do you get any failure/warning events in ARC-6060 log?
What version do you use? SCSI or FC?
Do you get any related events in Windows Events log
exept “dealayed windows write failed”?
The latest public firmware is 1.41.
What version do you have? -
> Can you tell me how much it cost you?
We used only several demo versions at no cost.>I assume you are using 3ware for storage and point-to-point FC?
Yes.> What backup application and version are you using?
We made no backups as usually we have tapes in studio
and project data (algorithm) was not on SAN. -
Yes, seting up the Mayastor was big task for me.
Mayastor itself isn’t so much of work but compiling all the drivers etc. is bit time consuming.
What I did like on Mayastor that there is lot of tweaks available.Priit

> The specs sound great on that unit, are there any issues to watch out for?
To be onest I did expect more performance form ARC-6060.
But isn’t it human nature to hope more than realistic.I have been bit lazy to test but seems, that our homebuilt SAN
had less latency. ( 3ware controller and Pavitrasoft’s SAN software).
Also there is one annoing issue that on writes in every few seconds
the troughput is degraded for a moment. I think it is related to cache flush.
If the bandwith is critical it might be an issue. As about reliability – no any problems during 4-5 months.
The configuration is very good via web interface too.
Have contacted support few times and they are very responsive. We don’t have BBU or UPS.
When working with tapes it is not so critical.Priit
