    Ok 😉

I hope that my post and/or bug report would help to find the bug.
Please chceck my problem and tell me what you get.

Since I (and many my friends) use Premiere rather to online than offline work that bug with sequences makes it (CS5) not usable.

    Regards
    Piter.

    Thanks Todd for quick reply.

I’ve updated to 5.0.3 every system few days ago and problem still exists.

Many days ago I send “detailed bug report” to Adobe about that, but there is no answer and I do not even wonder there will be… ;(

I wolud be very gratefull if you or anybody colud help me “directly”.
Please chceck this issue on your own and tell me that I’m wrong.

    To be clear I’ll summarize:
I’m talking about such scenario: put sequence of files on timeline and try to render preview (to AVI f.e.) or try to export media from that to AVI or QT f.e.
Both will do very fast with CS3 (and as I remember CS4)(in HD about 20fps on average system) but in CS5 it goes 5-10x slower.
I test it every update and with different settings like HD720, PAL, other sequence formats etc. and spend a lot of time with it.

Every time I’ve project with sequences I use CS3, when working with stream (AVI QT or R3D…) i succesfully use CS5.

Ok, I understand the pixel aspect – I’m one of the “right-thinking” ;).

But what about support of sequences. CS5 is really slow with sequences.
It looks that trying to speed up whole Premiere somebody made a bug with reading sequences. Can anybody chceck it at Adobe?

I have some systems and tested on any – from dual Quad HPXW8400 to i7 980x with 6 cores and Win7 on MAC PRO dual Nahelem – all with Quadro, FC SAN and lots of RAM, all Win7 x64.

Thanks for link with pixel aspects – i’ll study it later, but consider:
I had 4:3 with 1.0666, now I have not 4:3 with 1.094. Do I have to change my televisor now cause it is 4:3 as I guess?

I know that TGAs are not so popular nowadays, but it happens to any sequence format (TIFF, JPG, BMP etc.) Premiere is going to support sequence files for sure – they added f.e DPX support in CS5.

I do not have any plugins etc. I talk about very simple usage: open new project, create a sequence, import a sequence of files and try to render preview or export them as any other format from timeline.

Do you render sequence of files (TGAs etc?) – if so – forget – CS5 is horrible slow in rendering sequences – I’ve same effect. It is fast with stream video (avi, mov) but cannot render sequences. Go for CS3!
