Premiere Pro renders forever
I am rendering a video preview of about 30 minutes of footage. I have waited almost 25 hours so far, and the Premiere says I have 3 hours to go. Something is very wrong.
I am using Windows 7 x64 on an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz with 4 GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 and 228 GB free space on the SATA hard drive. I have ordered 4 more GB of RAM, and obviously using CS5 64-bit would help. I have seen confusion in this forum as to whether CS4 is 64-bit or not. I assume it is only optimized for Vista x64 and not true 64-bit.
There are 1,560,100 frames, and I can literally count as fast as they go by.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CS4 is 32bit software optimized for a 64bit OS like win7 64, it can use a full 4gigs of ram if there is extra ram for the OS and multitasking, minimum of 6gig, 8gig recomended.[Tom Simon] “I am rendering a video preview of about 30 minutes of footage. What kind of footage are you trying to preview? what effects have you applied to it? Some types of footage can take a long time on older dual core systems -
Do you render sequence of files (TGAs etc?) – if so – forget – CS5 is horrible slow in rendering sequences – I’ve same effect. It is fast with stream video (avi, mov) but cannot render sequences. Go for CS3!
