Of the top of my head there is an alternative workflow if it’s just one big movie it might work to save as a .veg without Twixtor, then import .veg in your project, replace the movie on timeline by the .veg and apply Twixtor to that. It’s like nesting in Premiere or FCP then. Then the first frame would be where the trim point was is the hope.

Has to do with using Media Event versus Video Event FX and trimming clip

Note: You will need to use Twixtor as a Video Event FX when you are making the clip longer. However, you will need to use Twixtor as a Media FX (not Video Event FX) when you want your result to be shorter than the original. Well that sounds like a Premiere anomaly.
You can also file bug at Adobe.
I am personally not sure check, you could check the Sequence Settings at the bottom of the panel (Bit depth and Composite in Linear Space) and as well if it makes a difference if you have Mercury Engine CPU or GPU in FIle | Project Settings

I don’t see that here. I turn twixtor on and off and see no color shift.
It might be different things, including the particular file format you use, the interaction with other effect,…

Also if you are animating by expanding the video track and selecting motion | Twixtor Output: Speed to show up as a curve, try a non linear interpolator (It defaults to linear). You can access the curve types by right-mouse clicking on a keyframe. Make sure the curve does not go backward though which is easy to do if you look at it real small…
