well.. yes, my computer did choke up when i was using 2036/1536 with 7 layers of Animation+ files.
i will deliver most likely on tape (dvd for submissions of course) – that’s why i was asking about the FCP settings etc.
if i go for 1920/1080 i guess i’ll just make a “small version” half the size with same settings otherwise.
it’s better for me to output from my animation software as big as possible and to import into FCP likewise, in order to maintain, as much as possible, the fluidity of the vector lines.

ok ok thanks, it’s a little hard for me to understand everything..
i’d be happy to export from my animation software to a different format than animation if you say that’s not well suited for editing, but which one should i choose then? i simply noticed that that one didn’t alter too much the beauty of the vector lines.
then, my hard drive is very simple a 7200 rpm 1000 gigs, perhaps that’s not ideal again..
most importantly, i don’t understand how to organize the workflow to do offline editing and then “transfer” it to online. thanks again – pierre
