    Thanks Richard.

I’m using Keynote from iWork 08. I’ve tried the recored slideshow function saving it to a quicktime movie.

Although it recoreded my manual timings and narrations, not all of the builds come up and it drops one of the audio tracks.

If someone can tell me how to use the dot Mac account to post these clips, then you’ll be able to see more clearly what the problems are.

    Thanks.

    Jon

I just got a dot Mac account.

How can I put a sample of the QuickTime movie on the web so that all of you can see the complexities?

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don’t think that will work.

My Keynote presentation is more than just a timed show. No 2 slides are up for the same duration. Some slides have up to 40 builds in them with sound bites and video clips contained in the show.

I was doing the screen capture because I was putting a narration track on it as I went through the presentation.

I changed the sequence settings to match a new Snaz movie. It was custom size 1024×768, 24 fps, 48 mHz sudio, 16 bit, Photo – jpeg compressor.

Imported into FC. Same results. I’m lost. Is there anyone near Milwaukee Wisconsin that I can hire???

I also got an error message that said I was out of memory. Pretty strange since I had just turned on the Mac a couple minutes before. It is a dual quad processor with 9 gig or RAM. Can I allocate RAM to FC like we used to do with PhotoShop? Is that a problem?

I did a Snapz capture of my 1024×768 Keynote presentation (35 sec). It has a Mac Audio track and a Mic track. I captured it at 20 fps with smoothing turned on.

I dubbed the capture as PHOTO – jpeg with both audio tracks on.

It created a QT movie. In FC I imported the .mov.

First I tried to double click the clip in the browser. I could see the start of the movie in the viewer with sprocket holes on the left. I click the play button. The sprockets go away but the play head doesn’t move. If I move the scrubber wheel, I can see the movie in the viewer wherever I stop.

Next, I dragged the clip into the time line. It doesn’t play in the viewer. It shows unrendered when I click play in the canvas. I can see a frame of the show when I click the play button a second time.

    Tom,

I tried PHOTO – jpeg. It wouldn’t play either. Is there someplace to find a step-by-step, on this?

    Thanks Todd.

I tried iShowU.com to find the software but didn’t see anything. Can you recommend a codec that FC can work with that will keep the file size small and quality high. I know that’s asking a lot. The presentation I’m recording is 1024×768.

Is there a different program that I can edit a H.264 Snapz show? The QuickTime from it is beautiful and small.

I have no idea how to do that. I don’t have a website.

Can I capture in Snapz with H.264 and import into FC for editing? When I try it, it won’t play. But then again neither will Animation.

Are there initial settings or a set up that I should do?

Thanks. I have all the panes now.

I took a screen shot of the animation problem. How can I send it to you?

    Thanks Tom,

It doesn’t play in the viewer. If I render it, it will play in the canvas, but the swoosh build in Keynote overlaps and gets stuck.

Now, for some reason, my canvas and timeline won’t appear. I’ve hit command 2 and command 3 and nothing. They are both grayed out in the menu.

I was hoping I could use H.264 as my dubbing compression before importing because it greatly reduced the file sizes and processing times. I don’t know what type of codecs can be used when combining Keynote, Snapz Pro X and FCP.

I’m very new to this and need your guidance. Thank you. Jon
