Andy,
Thanks for the reply. I do not plan on using any Powerpoint with this system, but will keep this in mind if the need arises. Also, when you say large screen projection, do you mean projection through a projector or for television versus web? I don’t plan on using the system for any large screen projection with a projector, the intent will be to use it as a switcher only (maybe use the CG) for “live to tape” events. Any help with this setup would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Walter,
What did you mean by “you purchase an internal card, then you’ll need a PCI-X card which is end of the line with the new Mac Pro’s now released” I’m not totally up to speed on the new Macs and what will work in the future and what won’t.
Thanks,

shane, can you explain this? How do you have these drives raided together, I’m in the same situation as meeroo.
[Shane Ross] ” I have two G-Raids that are not only firewire 800, but TWO drives RAIDED together via hardware,”Also, you said that the drives won’t be reliable yet Walter says that the FW 800 from G-Tech and Lacie drives are fast enough. I’m a little confused.
(i will read Walter’s article now while I wait on hopefully a reply)Thanks for the help and the knowledge.

Mr. Griffin,
Great article in the Cow Mag. I always thumb thru a mag when I get one in the mail to see what I want to read first and when I sawyour article I stopped and read it, read it again and made a friend of mine read it. I really liked #9, “Time and Effort Frow Exponetially After 80%” I ned to have everyone I work with at my full time job read that part! As I’m trying to start my own business I will keep these points to help shape the business. How about a book?
Thanks for sharing your insights.

This workflow makes sense to me and the extra drives or DVD’s would not be that expensive of a investment. Did the producers ask for the HVX or did you have to sell it to them. -

1: discuss and try to sell the P2 technology and workflow to clients and try to get them to purchase a card reader or store drive to keep at their facility
2: I would purchase a couple of hard drives that I could transfer media to and rent / loan to the client
3: purchase more than one store drive for clients to rentAnother question, how many people (agencies and such) are aware of this “new” technology. Most of us who are shooters/editors/producers and general techies are aware of this technology and are welcoming it with open arms. How hard of a sell has it been for those of you who are using it?
Thanks,
PHIL
