Hmm I am not really sure. in After Effects do you have the “Toggle Transparency Grid” on?

Maybe give us more information on how you saved the photoshop file and how you imported it.

    Thanks for your reply.

Since I have the comp at 30fps – will it hurt it if I change it to 29.97?
Can I still leave my comp at 30 fps?

My video consist of photos that are cut in pieces and move, flourishes that write on, and moving text. I don’t have any moving video.

Once I export the file from AE using the Animation codec – I will put it in Final cut and then re-export it from Final Cut using Apple Pro Res HQ.

My only 1920×1080 Apple Pro RES HQ in Final Cut is 30 FPS. Will that be a problem if I change it to 29.97 in After Effects?

    Thanks so much.

Silly question but are you sure you have an alpha channel on the PSD file? I am not a PSD pro but i usually make 2 layers in my photoshop file. Bottom layer is transparent and top layer is my graphic.

Also, lets say that you have a graphic over transparent, you can save it as a PNG copy and it will be a much smaller file size.

I just imported several high resolution photos from photoshop using that same method and it worked pretty well

As long as you have the checkered background behind your object – it should be transparent in AE

Thanks – I ended up scaling the sequences the same size and toggling between them in different sections. Worked out ok. Next time my backup sequence wont be in the same bin as my master sequence.

    Thanks
