HD Export in After Effects
Using AE CS4, I created a 40 second composition with the following settings:
1920×1080
Pixel Aspect Ratio D1/DVNTSC 0.91
30 Frames Per SecondMy question is this: Can you give me advice on the best output settings to preserve the HD quality without the huge file size?
I did a 10 second test using ANIMATION as the compression, the file is 890mb
I did another 10 second test with Pro Res 422 and the 10 second clip was 187mb
I could not tell a difference in quality. But the Pro Res played smoother with Quicktime.
I will take the final MOV file exported from AE and put it into Final Cut to add sound effects to complete the commercial.
The client will end up with the VIDEO clip in a Final Cut timeline and the RAW export file from After Effects.
I am just trying to be efficient but not loose quality – the video will more than likely be played back off of some sort of computer playback system and it will be played on a screen at a large conference.
Thanks for your advice and thoughts.
