we were using the KiPro in a truck environment….had a bunch of tape stacked really close to the left edge…blocking the vent that I really didnt see. Well needless to say it got freaking hot…and we started to loose audio during recording…..we moved the tapes and magically everything worked great again!

    That little box is great!

4 channels of audio would be better, but I am going to be buying at least 1!!

wow, this really is not that hard….Hate to see you guys go at it….

first off how long is your animation…..

    you Mac or pc…..

if mac then easy….simply render it out in “animation codec..

open your idvd or whatever you use and drop it in there burn the disk and off you go….

If you cannot preview the whole thing in a ram preview and thats really what you want to do choose a “mpeg4” or “video” as your codec render it out to the desktop open it in quicktime player and you will be able to see your animation. then once you know your animation is coo, render the high rezversion and burn it… hope this helps

I have been looking into this too and have a little new info from EVS try contacting Greg Lawler (g.lawler@evs.tv)….I have spoken with him about the IMX codec in SD that aparently passes straight thru the x-file and is directly accessable by FCP.

if you would like the info I have please let me know

    Hey Tom,

I was was installing a rental XT2 the other day and as soon as I started it up it came up this an error message. Please change codec to match. Aparently the XT2s also can record in IMX instead of MJEPa…..which according to EVS you can -file the clips then just load the drive on you FCP and off you go. Right now this only works in SD but HD is in works according to Gerg Lawler at EVS.

Should be cool once the get it worked out, according to Greg MediaXchange is a bandaid till they get this all worked out with Apple.

    Hey Tom,

I have been messing with mediaXchange, a bit. Works, but I still have issues. I am using it on a Standard Def truck racing series, well at least we are trying. the EVS>MJEP-A wrapper. do you notice any wierd artifacts or banding sort of things during playback in FCP. It works nice, X-file crushes through 20 minute clips in around 4 minutes, with 10 isos its not to bad….just wondering if you have noticed anything.
