Am capturing as I was originally with the Video8 before I went DV, as described in my question, with the USB A/D conerter and audio into aux stereo in. Would very much like to correct before the event takes place rather than post editing, which was why I was asking. Is it a function of some setting I’m missing that was in place before I was DV capturing, but now has changed? I found a temporary and just acceptable fix (if there is such a thing) by removing the lock on group events, via IGNORE EVENT GROUPING toggle, and shifting the whole audio envelope holding the CTRL key. If the start of the capture is in sync, and I move the audio envelope till the end is in sync all seems ok, though the middle area can drift out of sync by a second or so. It appears the time coding for A and V use different timebases, so how can I lock them? Another fix I have found is splitting the hour or more capture event into smaller groups, tedious and shouldn’t be necessary, but everything is pretty well in sync and easier to correct
Thanks, I’m losing what hair I have left!!

Just started a thread with just the sort of problem you describe. Tried to search on syncing problems but didn’t come up with anything. Was idly perusing threads and saw yours which gave me a fix, and may give you one as well. Tried the CTL key hold while moving just the audio envelope, by first selecting the IGNORE EVENT GROUPING toggle button at the top. It worked for me, compressing just the audio envelope complete, and now my A/V is perfectly syncronised. Maybe this will work for you as it doesn’t touch the video envelope. If it’s not the fix you need, at least thanx for giving me the fix I needed.
