[David Roth Weiss] “You would see the greatest benefit when using either Motion or FinalTouch color correction.”

Don’t forget FCP uses FXplug in the new update 🙂

    Jeffrey,

It think its the case of buy what you want when you need it. You will always be sitting on the fence if you are waiting for the latest and greatest to come out.

I have a shiny new 3G Dual Core MacPro, it boots almost instantly and is so quiet you don’t know its switched on, first tests make it look very quick indeed. Thats not the point though, most FX are now being transfered to use the GPU, so the speed of that is now more important than the speed of the CPU.

Also uncomfirmed reports suggets that processors are socketed anyway which ‘might’ mean you can swop them at a later date.

You will probably have to make a mask & layer for each element of the ‘shatter’
Then when you shatter it will apply the effect in 3d to each layer and move each
    part accordingly.

Not too sure that the replicator is the way to go though, I’d hand draw each element.

Pretty easy, take the fill clolour of your splodge and then assign a random behavior to the R, G & B sliders

Cntl click on fill colour then assign the parameter. Then select behavior from the parameters at the right hand side
    of the RGB sliders
Then select randomise in behaviors and adjust the random seed to alter the initial colour.

Tweak the other parameters to get what you want

Ah, just spotted you are running 4.5

Be careful what you wish for, because when the Universal Binaries drop on the mat it may come true 🙂

You can select which disks to search for the media in 5.1 (maybe earlier too)
There is also the option to always reconnect offline media

[S.E. Ball] “Reconnecting media: having a prompt window that allows you to select
which drives to select, to speed up the process from not unnecessarily
searching other internal drives not used in the project.”

? You can do this already.

[S.E. Ball] “Accurate Media Manager export/consolidate/copy project and files.”

5.1.2 has an updated media manager but rumours are it needs a rewrite from the ground up

[S.E. Ball] “Efx send/receive on each audio track: being able to assign AU (audio unit) limiter to just the dialog track,
compression, eq, whatever…..saving audio mix tweakage time.”

Copy and paste attributes doesn’t work for you?

Picture Ready is excellent. Also gives you instant access to a recording clip.
