Ok, I’ve tried playing around with a demo version of X-particles cause I really want to learn this plugin. What I’m trying to achieve is having the dots shoot out from a single dot, then whenever it changes direction, the trace leaves out another dot. Do you have any tutorials or guide me in any way to create this effect with X-particles?

I’ve tried the tracer object, but with no luck. What I really want to do is make them behave a bit like the image I attached.
So the lines shoots out dots. I guess it shouldn’t be that hard. -
Still struggling with this. I have gotten this far and I’m now trying to connect lines from the inner sphere to the different dots. Anyone got tips on how to do this? Tracer object maybe? And also how to animate this so the dots and lines appear in a random order and not all at once?

Thanks for replying! Hmm very new to Cinema, du you perhaps know of a tutorial that may go through some of the things you mentioned? I know most of the mographs capabilities, but not so sure about the constraint tag and how this could work with cloners

I made them both in Illustrator. Then I copied them over and pasted them in as masks on a solid layer.

Sorry if this is a newb question, but should I cut up the play button in Illustrator or is there any way to do it in After Effects?

I’m using the “Time” Type in the Numbers effect. I’ve senn many Youtube videos that uses the same technique, but they all get the colon mark between the numbers, I get the punctuation mark.
Instead of this:
