Walters solution is a nice one, but if you want something more economical have a look at OWC ( Other World Computing) they have a dock that you just drop a drive into and remove it when done.

$89 and your done.

If you are editing SD, DV material it might be fast enough, but the Drobo is not intended as a Editing RAID system. As for storage I probably would not chose a RAID for that Individual external HD’s are cheap enough, so you can store an entire project on one drive and put it on the shelf until you need it

Get the Drobo for storing your projects, its too slow to edit from, and look at the products from CalDigit for the RAID5. I have built my own RAID systems for some time now, but the Caldigit systems are very good and cost no more that self built. They have a 4 drive box that is very reasonably priced as it comes with the RAID card and it can be increased to a 8 drives system by just adding another box. Don’t store your projects on the same RAID that you will use for your primary editing.

At 30fps the ball will just disappear, you won’t see the club at all. We have shot at 300fps and the club is still fast, but at least you can see it. A golf club at full swing is traveling at 100’s of mph. You will need a high speed camera to catch the action. Especially that close, the wider you are the more you will catch.

If you have After Effects experience, move the shot over there, create a comp with the footage. Duplicate the layer. On the second layer use the levels effect and make the green darker. Reveal the bottom layer with a feathered mask just around the white board. You may have to roto her hand with the mask but if its just a couple of secs should be not a big deal.

Ray I had this same error message. It drove me nuts too. However I found the culprit. It was that I had put return to menu links for each chapter, and then also put return to menu links in each chapter-playlist, it was a kind of loop that I had created. I removed all the links in the individual chapter markers leaving the “Return to Main Menu” link in the chapter-playlist. Then the error went away. I hope that this helps your situation.

No overrides anywhere on the proj.

Ok I’ve solved that problem, thanks to a post by Joe Bowden further down the list. I had put end links in the chapters as well as in the chapter playlist. Encore did not like that.

Joe thanks for the info on the chapter playlists. All is working now. However still have to solve the transcoding problem for the next time.

No overrides that I am aware of (I did not create any), and in compressor I selected the BluRay transport option.
