30p doesn’t necessarily have to look jerky. In fact, many commericals are shot at 30p to get that “film look” without shooting on film. I’m presuming the footage you have looks jerky because the shutter speed was “too fast” (“too fast” definition is left as the reader’s excercise).
I see that Graeme suggested Twixtor. In your particular case, I would use ReelSmart Motion Blur on the footage and not Twixtor. It will add motion blur based on the motion in the footage… easing the jerkiness without doing any retiming. (and, yes, it’s another product of ours). It will not add new fields like Twixtor would, but can help ease the jerkiness (adding in a more “film-like look” in the process).

If you still have your Twixtor 3 key (which hopefully you do since you upgraded to version 4 and didn’t start with version 4) you can install Twixtor 3 available here : https://www.revisionfx.com” target=”_blank”>https://www.revisionfx.com/rstwixtordownloadsOldAE.htm .
You can then simply use Twixtor 3 or copy your settings to the twixtor 4 plugin (or better yet, link the values that are animated via expressions).

“Sorry it’s taken so long for us to respond, but we just received FCP 5 and Tiger.
Not sure why the plugins are no longer recognized. When I install FCP 5.0 and Tiger here, and then our plugins, then everything works fine.
Have you tried installing them again? Please do that. I’m hoping this will fix the problem.
Also, can you look and make sure the plugins are in the /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins directory?
