    Jeremy,
    OK…that’s really clear. Thank you!
I suspect the problem lies with the fact that all the media I’m trying to change is of slightly different lengths as when I follow this procedure it still just updates whichever clip I’m cntrl/clicking, if ya get what I mean.
I think I’ll give up now. It seems weird that this is so difficult to achieve. It’s not an imperative that I achieve this. I was just wanting to see what that particular effect looked like on a given set of clips.

    Thanks again for your help

Hmmm, well if I had the foggiest what that acronym meant I might be able to answer 🙂
…not the most technical person on this forum.
    So what does it mean?
    Any other suggestions anyone?

    Hi,

I appreciate your help although unfortunately I can’t achieve your suggestions still.

Firstly to the re-importing of the Batch List: FCP just doesn’t recognise the new list and won’t open it. I did save it as you suggested.
Secondly your suggestion of Select all, right click and choose the duration parameter. Set a duration and hit enter.…is that a new suggestion separate to the batch list solution? Is that on the timeline or in the Browser? I tried both with no success. Even if you select all it just updates the first one in the selection.
    Regards,
    Peter

Thanks again. Well I tried that but once it’s been edited and saved in something other than FCP Text file (I opened it with xcel and saved as Teb delimited) Final Cut doesn’t recognize the file type and won’t import it.
    Am I missing something?

    Thanks Jerry,
I’ve never had to export a batch list and it’s not immediately clear how to do this. Any pointers?

    Thanks Kristian,

Well I just double checked and strangely there’s no ‘off’ setting. It only allows me to choose from squeeze, letter box or edge crop.

    Hi,

I’m no export either but it could be a setting in your audio sequence settings. Click in your timeline, hit [command, 0] – this is the shortcut to bring up your sequence settings. Then click on the ‘Audio Outputs’ tab (last one on the right). Check the ‘grouping’ setting and set it to stereo. See if that helps.
    Good luck

Oops, Hold everything….I just got it to work by installing TUXERA:

    http://www.tuxera.com/products/tuxera-ntfs-for-mac/

I wish I had have found this a few hours ago. Seems like a great product.

So for those also wondering about this, the first step was to reformat my Mac drive to NTSF on a Windows machine. This took quite a long time. Then install TUXERA on your Mac and it just instantly picks up the newly formatted NTSF drive and gives it full read/write status.

After all that, this extremely untechie guy is very pleased with himself 🙂

Just wondering how you transfer your footage to Mac from PC.
I’ve just spent a few hours tearing my hair out trying to reformat my external drive so it can read/write across platforms and ended up down all sorts of dark paths that are way over my head.
