Hey guys, sorry if this question’s been thoroughly covered elsewhere, but I’m kind of new to …audio situations in Final Cut and I’m trying to edit video to an original song of mine, but when I import the song into Final Cut, all of my little piano parts and backup vocals that were beautifully spread to the left and right channels..all get mashed into the center. ( yes this was a ridiculously verbose way of saying the song goes mono) Then when I export it (I’m doing quicktime conversion so I can upload to the web) sure enough, it stays mono in the final quicktime file. I’m sure this is pretty basic stuff, so I apologize if this is a totally annoying noob question. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,

I’m no export either but it could be a setting in your audio sequence settings. Click in your timeline, hit [command, 0] – this is the shortcut to bring up your sequence settings. Then click on the ‘Audio Outputs’ tab (last one on the right). Check the ‘grouping’ setting and set it to stereo. See if that helps.
    Good luck
