if it was hitting -6 on the zoom display, and your EARS said it was good (you were wearing headphones i presume) then it must be something that is happening after.
Have you tried listening to JUST the shotgun track on it own. NOT as part of a stereo track from the zoom but split off to mono and then the other side removed. Im wondering if youre losing audio level through phase cancellation. Try the rifle track singly, and then pan centre.

Well theres a few things here
1) do you think its alright?
2) does your transmitting station / company / commissioning outlet agree with you. They may be different things.
3) Your sound editor may well have done a good job, but a sound editor is NOT a dubbing mixer. Im sure hes keen to have a go (who wouldnt, the mixing is the glamour bit.
Think of it like this.
A farmer plants, grows, cultivates his crop etc and makes the raw ingredients that are delivered to a kitchen. He doesnt make the award winning cake!
That said, your man may well be more than an editor (it was your word) in which case….
4) You will need to mix to delivery specs as laid down by your station
5) Make sure you adhere to loudness specs, as thats big in the US i hear, but really hasnt come in here in the uk yet.

i dont know about mics in a certain price range, but I do often record Senneiser radio mics into a Zoom (granted I put a mixer inbetween.)
BUT do make sure you monitor with headphones. Dont leave it to its own devices or it will let you down.

Yes – I use Nugens Vis-LM Correct
It incluses a “correct” option which does that.

I tend to think then that your only hope is a specialist data recovery place.
It all depends on how important this file is for you, as its not exactly cheap.
I had to get an sxs card data recovered once. Was a few hundred £££ but well worth it in the scheme of things.

I cant open it, but i do get this error
Decode error : Invalid RIFF header OxOxOx3If it came from a zoom, you might try re inserting it back into the same zoom, and seeing if that will play it, then perhaps consolidating it into another file.
Beware tho, you ,ay lose it alltogether?

If youre going to do that, youll need to chequerboard every sound clip, extend the in back and the out forward to creat a “handle” that is on the timeline rather than a handle that is hidden, otherwise youll lose all the handle information, which is more important than life its self.

I dont know exactly how you can do that, but I think the more normal way would be to bounce a mix down, recut the pics with the mix, and use Virtual katy to reconform your protools seq from the edl that you export from AVID.
