I ripped a blu-ray to MKV, to edit it.
I demuxed the MKV to separate the video and audio files, but Vegas doesn’t like the MP4 that came from it.
I used VLC media player to “convert” to MP4, as for some reason Vegas accepts it.
The MediaInfo above is from the file VLC produced.
I noticed something else.
When I click on the MP4 (from VLC) in Vegas, it reports the properties are 1920x1080x12
When I told it to “Match Project Settings to Media”, it sets the project settings to 1920x1080x32
I’ve researched that a little, and I get it may be nothing, but I don’t really understand it and it’s one of the few differences I’ve noticed between the AVCs Vegas renders (all with stutter) and the VLC file (which plays perfectly).
Also, I noticed the VLC file is actually 1920×1088, though Vegas says it’s 1920×1080.
I assume that’s not causing stutter, but I’m not sure.
Any ideas?
