[Ole Kristiansen] “Does Vegas Pro support dual cpu and more than 16 threads ?”

As far as I can see it, it uses all the threads and the memory (within the limits of VP13 (16 threads and 32Gb memory))

    Hi Roger,

Because I read in several places that the number of cores (threads) is important in video-editing I build my pc with two processors (E5-2620 is 8 cores, 16 threads).
    So I got 16 cores (32 threads). I know it’s luxury (I’m a private user), but it’s my hobby.

You can build your machine with the specs you want on a HP retailersite (workstation configurator).

    HP Z640, 2 * Xeon E5-2620v4, 64GB, Z Turbo Drive Z G2 512GB, Quadro M4000 8GB, W10 Pro (64), Vegas Pro 13(453), DS1812+ (+25TB)
Panasonic HDC-HS700, DJI Phantom 3 Pro

    Hi Roger,

    Bought a few months ago:
    HP Z640, 2 * Xeon E5-2620v4, Z Turbo Drive Z G2 512GB, 64GB, Quadro M4000 8GB, W10 Pro (64).
    I’m using Vegas Pro 13(453)

The machine works really fine, but I was hoping for a more real VP14. Not a 13.1 as offered now.

I’m using full HD (Panasonic HDC-HS700) and 4k (DJI Phantom 3 Pro).
Separatly working perfect in VP13. Together on the timeline, a little bit slower, but with proxies OK.

Hopes it helps you a bit.

    HP Z640, 2 * Xeon E5-2620v4, 64GB, Quadro M4000 8GB, W10 Pro (64), Vegas Pro 13(453), DS1812+ (+25TB)

[John Rofrano] “I’m guessing that the price of the 12-Core HP Workstation and iMac aren’t even close with the HP costing a lot more”

The pices of the mentioned HP and the iMac are (at this moment) almost the same. Just under € 5000 (in the Netherlands, Europe).

And yes I love the iMac but it’s only expandable by (expensive) Apple parts.
With the HP I can use some “old” disks from my current system.

    Vegas Pro 13(453); I7-950, GTX465 (1GB), Windows 10 (64), 24GB and a I7-4770, GTX660 (1,5GB), 16GB, Windows 10 (64), DS1812+ (+20TB)

  • Nesting is making my 5.1 audio-mix into stereo. For me this is the reasons I don’t use nesting.

    Vegas Pro 13(310); I7-950, GTX465 (1GB), Windows 7 (64), 24GB and a I7-4770, GTX660 (1,5GB), 16GB, Windows 8 (64), DS1812+ (20TB)
