Hello,
thanks. So I think I have to find my own way 🙂
I have some business customers that nearly only watch the DVDs on their notebooks and therefore nearly alway find the audiolevels to low. Those little speakers newer clipped with my high level but had a decent listening level.Do You have any explanation where these incredible low level standards come from ?
I mean, I understand from analog times, that you need a maximum that could be exceeded by some peaks. But in digial age there is our known limit of 0db.Just for interest, as soon a customer will ask me why my level is sooo low now 🙂
Thanks!

Hi 🙂
we had so much problems with yellow tubes in a futuristic set, that we completely repainted them.
We’ve got a good matte, but the despilling changed the yellow in an unaceptable way.So I would say:
It can be done, if you are not insisting on keeping the exact shade of yellow in the final composit.Maybe it helps 🙂

Thanks!
Meanwhile I am a proud owner of a fieldskit license 🙂
It’s really nice and can most of the time give better results than aftereffects. Some workflow things still are not 100% clear.
In general: The Premiere Preview Window behaves so crappy that it’s hard to tell whats happening. But by systematic experiments I found a way to get good results.
Seems like the only way to work is Aftereffetcs, where one can see the Ttruth in the Preview Window at 100%.
Is my workflow right, that I import a interlaced clip, then interpret it as “no fields” (to avoid any aftereffetcs deinterlacing) and then apply fieldskit ?
One other thing (which is not a fieldskit problem but maybe You know) is, that when I deinterlace and then make a standard DVD, which per standard only knows interlaced material, isn’t there the danger that applications (thinking it’s still interlaced from the standard) do another deinterlacing ?
Anyhow, so far I am happy with You product. Thanks again!

I am working for a long time now with the great book of Steve Wright.
And there is that greenscreen correction procedure that obviously needs dividing.
But I would be happy to know a workaround. Thanks!

Thanks for the confirmation.
I’ve also posted this in another forum and there’s absolutely no response. Are we two the only ones that run into this problem – I guess not 🙂Yes it works with DV and used to work even iwth HD-Matrox Avis but that is another story …
The one thing I really don’t understand is: Why can a offline project NOT be trimmed ? I hav a little understanding vor the HDV Clips as they are mpegs which might no be so easy to split. But it should be possible to do it offline.
So for my actual project which IS HDV I think I have to COMPLETELY recapture in DV, Trim it and recapture in HDV.
There must be another solution.
Thanks for Your help so far. And other ideas ?

Absolutely certain 🙂
I found the same problem when searching the forums archive, but nobody seems to know.
Thats really a problem … how should I archive hdv projects ?
Thanks for any idea!

But the workflow is probably the best argument for FieldsKit.
Thanks!

I think I’ll try the Demo of FieldsKit.
Still, I am very interested in Your opinions on the Virtual Dub “Smart Deinterlacer” option.
I gave it another chance and it doesn’t look bad.I am indeend only interested in the deinterlacing function.
As we are shooting PAL with 25fps, there is no need for changing the framerate.
And for colorgrading I prefer the good old curves and so 🙂
And not the “matrix” presets 🙂Thanks again!
