  • yes sorry meant to say 4:3..not 3:2…I’ve been using the standard settings to compress. I think I’ll try compressing with adobe media encoder maybe that will help

    thanks

  • Hi Chris, I looked for some option to control the codec but I couldn’t find it..the only thing I found out was that disabling audio would automatically result in the file outputting to .m2v..other than that there’s no options. I’m sure my comp isn’t scaled…I only use presets for comps so both comps are under NTSC DV 720×480 29.97..same aspect radio 3:2 etc.. that’s what puzzles me :/
maybe the solution is just using another method to compress like Media Encoder but as I mentioned earlier they don’t have this software here at my workplace

  • @Chris…oh, yeah I forgot to mention I did try the stretch thing but got the same results :/..I also thought it was odd.. why stretch a 720×480 to 720×480? isn’t it already that size? (the option doesn’t make sense)…The screenshot was taken directly from the After fx CS3 output module..but I tried also compressing the vid in Premiere and the output dialog is the same and so are the results..blurry stretched video :/

  • yeah sorry I tought I had attached a screenshot with the specs. in my previous post! here it goes mpeg2_settings.jpg. The footage is 4:3 and I’m compressing by MPEG2. thanx guys

Well actually, I can select the effect itself ..what I can’t select is the name of it’s properties…i.e. I can select “gaussian blur” but I cannot select it’s “blurishness” propety (or whatever it’s called) property…I also CAN select the values of “blurishness”…but not the name of the property itself which is useful
to me…but is this possible? I’ve been using AE for like 4 years haha and I know it sounds weird but I don’t remember if I actually did it this way…I’m pretty sure I DID :S
