    That worked!

Sorry for reposting the issue, I found a lot of posts about this, but none really solved anything. Haven’t seen yours.

    Thanks!

    Hi!
FCP isn’t showing any framerate for the audio in the browser or item properties. But I haven’t seen that post and will try that!

Hi! Thank you for your answer

I have already double checked that, It’s all at 29.97, both video files and sequence. I’m also working on another show with almost the same setting and it’s all going smoothly.

I feel I’ve checked and double checked everything, except for the thing that’s missing heheheheh

  • You are right!
I changed the compression from XDCAM HD to XDCAM EX and that should fix it! I wasn’t considering what FCP or players would expect of that codec.

    Thanks

  • I’ll check it. FCP itself is interpreting the files as 1440×1080, though!

There is no XDCAM EX preset in Compressor, I figured I should change the usual XDCAM preset to accommodate my needs, it’s the difference between what Compressor says the file will be and what the file is that is bugging me.

I’ll use MediaInfo, players and even FCP can be tricky indeed.

    Thanks!

having the same problem here. Funny thing is that it actually sees the .MXFs of older, Media Composer 5.0 projects… but the ones I’ve transcoded in MC 5.5 are invisible to DaVinci

did you find a fix for this?

I did it for the video files, but now I’m thinking there might be aiffs (recorded during the capture) that may have passed through me without my noticing… Sometimes it gets messy to work with another editor when organizing projects, specially since I’m not very experienced…

I’ll check it out tomorrow and post back here!
    Thanks, David

    Hi!
I was kind of aware that Apple ProRes HQ was overkill, but since I wasn’t 100% sure I decided to use it, thanks for that advice. What I thought at the time was “when in doubt, better to have more than less”. Your beer analogy is still better than mine, but given my actual knowledge on the subject of Apple ProRes, mine was safe, I mean, since one doesn’t know how much a bottle and the keg can store, one don’t want to waste beer, right?

Now again on the main subject, I’ve already thrashed the preferences, I’m using a separate, internal, hard drive with 6tb (2,5 tb available) for the footage and all the FCS apps are at the main “macintosh HD”.

Thanks, and sorry for any english mistakes

    Hi!
Turns out apple prores worked fine when I exported the quicktime. In the sequence, though, it changed almost nothing (and I checked for renders).

    Thanks for the advice!

    Thank you for replying!

I’m using my computer monitor, an Apple LED Cinema Display. But I’m pretty sure it’s not a matter of using a reference monitor…

I remember a few days ago I tried to change the timeline settings to Apple Prores 422(hq), although I still had substancial loss in the quality of the Motion titles.

I’ll try it again tomorrow when I get to work, since your advice made total sense to me as well, I was puzzled when it didn’t work…

ps: for the record, I checked the quality of the Motion Title File and it’s good.
