Hi again Massimo. If I deinterlace the film it looks fine, but itsn’t that effectively turning it from a 50i film into a 25p film?

Hi Massimo, thanks for your reply. But I’m not sure it’s what you say, this is really really exaggerated and I don’t think it compares to other videos that I’ve seen on Youtube recorded at 50i (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKDB6y5zmDc).

It’s like it thinks its 1080i but it’s really a different resolution, that’s how bad the image looks. My XF100 arrives tomorrow, so I’ll have a look at what happens when I import footage from that at 1080/50i.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I was in a bar in the middle of nowhere writing that last message through desperation while out shooting so couldn’t respond at the time.

You were right though, the video was actually 25fps but VLC was saying it was 50, which really got me worried for a while.

    Thanks for your help.
