Thanks Rich. One other quick question: when you tried putting the drives in other enclosures were they the same model enclosures (same part #)? I’ve heard that may be a sticking point as the RAID controllers can be “generation” specific..

    Hey Rich-

Having the exact same issues. I haven’t transferred my drives to another enclosure though. Trying to find another used enclosure with no luck. Did you ever have any luck with a solution?

agreed and understood. It’s actually archival footage that is not acquired yet so it’s only being used as a placeholder. FYI – I think what was making it work was MPEG Streamclip with the Perian plug in.

    Thanks.

Thanks. It’s strange because the editor is who is working on the machine that it DOES play on says it plays on his home machine and his laptop. The editor on who’s machine it DOESN’T work won’t work on her machine at home either. Both edits have CS3 on them. The only difference I’m seeing as of now is that the machine that can play them has Flip4Mac installed. I didn’t think that worked in the background though….

FYI – Just finished testing with Toast 10. Worked fine.

Apparently the cable going from the card to the box has an AJA logo on it. The logo must face up on both sides. It can fit either way. Flipped it and RS & audio issues are solved. You think they might make that a bit clearer no?

    Thanks-

    Thanks again Jeremy.

Not to beat this thing anymore but just did a quick test. I created a timeline with 1080p30 sequence setting. Dropped in the Vcam clip and it was fine. Then dropped in an HDX clip (with field dominance changed from upper to none) and it wants to be rendered.

Conversely, using the same timeline setting (1080p30) I dropped in the HDX clip first and it asked me if I want to change the settings to match the clip. If I say yes the sequence setting changes to 1080i60.

Are there any other settings that need to be changed on the HDX clip other than field dominance?

Thanks Jeremy. When you say “change all the properties of you HDX footage” what exactly do you mean? Just the field dominance or other settings as well….
