I did as you suggested and it is rock solid now. Many, many thanks! Do you know if this has anything to do with, as I recall, some sort of incompatibility with >QT5?

Thanks Matt – I have the parallel port dongle at present and thought I remembered there was a USB version as well, but I wasn’t sure which version of software that was for. My USB ports are all used so that was my concern.
