Hi Bob
Thanks for the follow up
Right now I’m thinking of heading to NAB to check things out.
Also the rumors of a possible new Mac pro are interesting ,The new XeonE5 chips and new video cards, make this a possibility, if they do release them, they will most likely have thunderbolt, so that changes everything
Luckily I’m in no rush. This is for a home setup.
I’ll see in a few months what develops and re-evaluate things
Thanks

Thanks Robert
BMD request please
It would be great to be able to custom configure the way and order the waveforms are displayed
– To be able to dual display a waveform, 1 x normal and 1 x magnified at the same time
eg. Parade x 2, and vector x 2
– To be able to move the position of where the waveforms are, the scope LCD display might end up on the left or right side of your grading monitor, everyone worls differently, other scopes allow you to configure this.
Also to maximize display size, display only 4 waveforms of choice if needed each taking a 1/4 of the display.
Actually exactly how you can do this with Reolve’s built in scopes
I’m receiving my Ultrascope card next week
Looking forward to switching away from Resolve built in scopes for maximum power

Also
Can you display one of the waveforms more than once
Would also like to have parade normal in 1 window, then magnified on another
Same with vectorscope -
Thanks Ola

Hi Bob
Thanks again for the info
I’ve been doing some research, what do you think of the Stardom Sohoraid ST8 to go with the atto R680
Thanks in advance

Hi Bob
Thank you so much for explaining the process, looks like I was way off in how I thought this process would work.
When you say ” The ideal situation is to stick a multiport ATTO card or Small Tree card into a server, and put all your storage on your serve” , do you mean a multiple hard drive enclosure?
Could you give an example model of a server, around 20 tb for example
Which atto card would be suitable for this server
How does this ” push pull” environment work as you mentioned
Thank you so much in advance

I’m in the market for a good panel to use with Resolve, I know the proper Resolve panel is the perfect choice, but I can’t afford the price, I can’t wait to see what NAB brings
I just sold my 2 year old tangent wave and was considering the Avid artist color instead, didn’t like the feel of the knobs and levels controls, specially the rubber knobs for lift, gamma, gain that kept rubbing the surface when I used them, I kept adjusting their height but decided to move on.
I’ve spoken to a few Euphonix Mc Color users and they seem happy with the panel, I didn’t know there were unreliability issues with the Eucon protocol, some simply map direct from within avid
I originally had my hopes up for the Element, but not sure if this will ever be supported, could you elaborate on the feel of the element, the feel and response of the trackballs, the transport controller, what software did you test it with.
I agree that BMD should come up with they own mid range panel, I can see them selling way more mid range panels rather than the $30,000, though the big facilities would still go for the bigger panel, they already do, I just don’t see new big facilities popping up any more, instead disappearing, so moving forward a smaller more affordable panel is the way to go
The point I was trying to make is that the Avid Color and Control together can be a very powerful system with the right mapping and the ability to customize your own, and both units together cost under $4000
