I can’t reproduce the location but it has happened in multiple different locations so I’ll set it up and wiggle cables etc, to see if I can reproduce the interference sound.

I just realised I said Sony instead of Sennheiser. 😲..

Hi Mads,
No AGC anywhere in the chain. I keep my levels low.
I record from the Sennheiser G3’s into my H4N Pro.
It’s a weird high pitched sound and I was wondering if anybody had a similar occurrence.
I wonder now is it because of the H4N Pro. I record with mono mix and phantom power off.

It’s coming in and out here. High frequency.
With headphones I can hear it.

It’s very faint during the throat clear.

The Doc – We are following a guy on a one day shoot. He is finding ancient irish lifting stones and lifting them. On this day we are travelling to the Aran Islands of Galway, Ireland.
We will have interviews in the car. We will have him on the boat across and meeting people on the island. We will mic up one of his contacts for a chat We will travel to two stone lifts on the day, over rough terrain.
He will attempt to lift both stones, lifting the stones to his chest. I’d like him mic’d for this, and to get immediate feedback from him. But now that I think about it, I don’t want a mic on his chest as it will get friction and could get damaged.
We will conduct an outdoor interview, asking background questions that we will use as a VO.
The subject will be wearing a t shirt for the lift and a jacket depending on weather. He is enthusiastic, so I see no problem with placing the mic where we want.
Any and all advice greatly appreciated!

I’ve gone through your post and thanks for the detail.

I still use the main concept codec a lot. I’m really looking for a stable card, for playback, for stabilisation and also one that will work well with Sony Vegas 11 and Premier if and when I make the move. Speed of rendering is not my main concern.

Based on what you have said I think the Quadro 4000 fits these needs. This seems like a good price for over here.
