I have a similar problem with Windows 7 PC’s
I’ve tested with 2 separate PC’s, both will connect to the UltraStudio, but neither display source video. I can see in to out video connection if I disconnect the USB3 to PC, but re-connecting this kills the output (and VU metering) I have an Intensity Shuttle which connects and works fine – no problem. Despite mailing yesterday, still waiting for a response from BlackMagic support

We have a similar issue. Our experience is that 350 GB of KiStor content takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours to copy to another firewire 800 device. Copy time to Mac internal HD is considerably quicker, so the FW800 appears to be the bottleneck

Further to my previous post, I’ve spent more time investigating this problem. Using firewire and SD (DVCAM) footage, I get perfect frame-accurate results digitising from my Sony HVR-M35 deck. When i put an HDV recorded tape in the deck, it all goes wrong! I still have transport control, but get no audio/ video on firewire. If I use SDI for video, either SDFI or AES/ EBU for audio, I get signal in OK, but device control on firwire is random, nowhere near frame accurate. I’m stumped with this one, and so far, so is the dealer who sold me the system!
