With the beta driver from Matrox I was able to get stable OUTPUT only through the Matrox. This after the card wasn’t even a year old.

    Floh-
After following your suggestion and installing all new drivers for my video array; and doing a complete manual uninstall of the Matrox Mx02 driver files, with a reinstall of the Matrox 2.6.2 beta drivers I believe we are working properly.
If I find any other needed work arounds or info I will post back.
Thanks for your thoughts and time,
    Paul

    Jason-
I believe I have successfully resolved the issue with the Beta driver. It required a full manual uninstall of all of the matrox files in the system library folder and individual user folders, with a re-install of the 2.6.2 beta drivers. It appears to be functioning normally as of now. If I hit a snag or needed work around I will repost.

Jason I have had that beta driver for some time along with the afore mentioned problems. I have just updated my firmware and drivers on my video array (a Drobo 5D) per Floh and will let you know if the beta MX02 improves in performance. I am planning to reload that beta driver now that I have done the video array, and reloaded the Media 100.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Video storage is a drobo 5D array. I just updated the firmware and the driver to the most recent versions. It seems a little more stable. I will get back after I edit some later this week.
    Thanks,

Footage in question was shot on the HXR-5NXU sony at 1080P 29.97. Audio files were PCM as opposed to Dolby. The files were “wrapped” as opposed to converted. The file then was imported with Media100HD as the Codec and grew to a massive size and lost all audio. The video files would then not play with out intermittent freezing as though the disk array was too slow. No error message from Media 100 telling the user to check the array performance occurred. AJA’s disk array testing program showed sustained throughput at 270 Mgs per second.

Media 100 is running Suite 1.5 on a G5 power pc quad 2.5 Mghz. 5 gigs of ram.

The clipwrap people have said it is an issue with the the Sony camera and how it encodes files. Not what you want to hear when you have four brand new Sonys sitting in the EQ room.

All in all not a success on any level.

Floh if you e-mail me at pauljahn@one.net I will create and send you two 1080P 29.97 files, one with PCM audio and one with Dolby audio.

    Noah-
It seems on the Apple web site you can not buy DVD Studio Pro. You must by the entire final cut pro suite. I am doing my content creation in Media 100. It would seem that paying for an entire new NLE studio just to get DVD authoring is not avery good idea. Do you have a source to get just DVD Studio Pro?
    Thanks for your time,
