Got it. I tried again on a clean drive and that did it. It’s all goo now.

    Thanks,

    Thanks David,

And that’ll even work with the .dmg file CarbonCopy created?

Does the file have to be the only thing on the drive? I’ve got it residing within a folder on my external, which contains a few other folders as well

I’ve got the 17″ and I love it. Yes, it’s a bit bulkier than the 15″, but it’s not the end of the world. I’ve traveled with it extensively the last 6 months and I wouldn’t trade it for a smaller one.

I highly recommend maxing out the RAM; I’ve got 4Gb (third party), and I’ve no performance issues. Also running eSata to G-Drive Qs, and life is good!

Thanks, all! Certainly looks like it’ll do the job without becoming a potential major hassle.

Last question: Will it downconvert an HD to an SD signal for monitoring on the fly if I don’t have a proper HD monitor? Or is that more an FCP function?

    Cheers,

I’ve had the same problem (same MBPro config as well); however, the video always plays well on an external monitor (either HDV deck monitor or CRT hooked up through DV camera. I chalked it down to a bug in the video card, perhaps.

  • From the Flix Pro webpage:

“Outputs .FLV files (both 1-pass and 2-pass VBR) for easy import into the Macromedia Flash authoring tool.”

I don’t know anything about FLASH. Does this mean I need to work in Macromedia after creating a FLASH file from QT in Flix Pro? Or it the clip ready to post immediately?

    Cheers,
    Paul
