Any chance we might be able to get / install Rosetta as a separate app so that we could run PPC apps?

    Thanks,

    I’ve got a 17″ MBPro 2.4 duo w/ 4 Gb Ram and my FCS2 works beautifully.

I suggest third-party Ram for the upgrade (cheaper), and eSata drives (connect via Express 3/4 card). This would free up the firewire bus in the event you decide to pick up the AJA ioHD…

I haven’t played around much with Colour yet, but DVDStudio and Compressor both work well on my system.

    Update:

I’ve been talking to AJA tech support for the pas month now, and while he’s trying his best and if very accomodating, we still haven’t resolved my audio issue. It still dies intermittently, sometimes after 30 seconds of usage, and requires a reboot of my MBPro and ioHD.

Any new insight/ideas since the last post? Still hoping to keep the ioHD, but it’s pretty useless right now.

Tim – would love to hear from you, as you said you had the same issue.

    Cheers,
    Paul

Have you downloaded the uninstall software from the AJA support page? That worked for me. Once everything’s gone, reinstall 1.0 and it should work…

Sorry for the delay; I’ve been out of town and am only getting back to this issue. I’m in contact with AJA tech support, and they’re stumped as well. We may be swapping boxes to see if that’ll fix the problem.

I’ll post an update in 2 weeks, as I’ll be away from my suite once again.

    Thanks all,
    Paul

    Thanks for that, Alan.

As for settings, I’ve tried two:

    FCP:

Capture setting: AJA Kona 1080i60 DvcProHD to ProRes HQ
playback setting: Pro Res HQ (video plays nicely)
    audio playback: AJA ioHD

Currently, I’m cutting SD video, and this is where the audio issue is at it’s greatest.

    video playback: Aja ioHD 525 29.97 8bit
    timeline setting: DV/DVCPro Ntsc

    Aja COntrol Panel: 525i29.97

    Am I missing anything?

    to Gary:

eSATA G-Drives Q (raided) via Express 3/4 card. Tons of through-put: no FW bus.

    to Alan:

The v1 drivers worked originally: but I was cutting BRoll with no audio (it’s all I was able to acquire – all shot MOS). So I can’t say that the audio worked – I had no chance to test it.

I then upgraded to 1.1, and all hell broke loose. Video was all FUBARed in different and multi-colored ways. I was then able to digitize video & audio, and tried it briefly. I wasn’t on long enough to see if it would die on me, as I was too frustrated re: video issues. I also did a full reinstall on FCP suite 2.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Paul
