PS: just found an Adobe video tutorial which shows and even demonstrates that no level indicator is to be expected. Strange.

Thanks for response, I’ve got a fresh copy of premiere and I’m seeing the same problem still. I’ll let you know if I figure it out, got to be a setting or something like that. I had a problem with my USB Mic, which turned out to be that premiere needs “permission” to use the Mic, as granted in System settings security/privacy option. I called up Adobe and a Tech spent 45 minutes or so finding the problem, good service.
