Yeah I think I’ll cut my losses on this one:). The 24.02 fps one came from a new camera, so I’ll have a look into switching the settings to something more standard so this doesn’t keep coming up.

Sorry for the delay in responding here. You’re bang on, one of them is 25 fps, and the other, oddly, is 24.02.

There’s supposed to be a rate conform section of the video inspector according to the manual, but it isn’t there on my screen. In the end I’ve had to just do minute time-stretching job which is working pretty well, but I don’t suppose you know how to magic up the frame conform thing when it’s missing?:)

OK, thanks will do. I went ahead and bought the RAM meantime but as soon as the coffers re-fill I’ll get a firewire drive.

Hi Chris, thanks. Does that mean I’d literally be better sticking with the internal HD until I sort out a firewire drive? The only reason to use a USB would be that I already have one sitting here so it might be a small improvement for the moment?

Thanks, I already have a USB 1 Western Digital drive, I guess I could try that for a start whilst I’m looking into the RAM stuff?

Big thanks for the reply. Jut to be sure: I’m running final cut X; presumably ‘legacy’ refers to older versions?

But to come clean, I’m currently using the internal HD to store the media on. I’ll do some reading, but in brief would using Firewire 800 reduce processing time for tasks?
