Luke, again… Thanks for the great info. Seems like this workflow might let this HVD codec mix well enough with our true HD 10bit footage.

Question below is to see options of other HVD cameras in this type of workflow.

[Luke Maslen] “it must perform 4:2:0 to 4:2:2 color space conversion inside the camera before outputting the video. “

Will the Multibridge firewire input be able to up-res the HDV codec to a HDTV 1080 i/p 8-10bit 4:2:2, and will the conversion in your opinion be as good as possibly the in-camera conversion of the Canon H1?

I know this Camera is not available for comparison, but I am hopping that this is a technical question that only has 0s & 1s to contend with rather than a better mouse trap issue.

    Best Regards,

  • [Luke Maslen] “It may be that three displays is too much but that two displays is fine”

Thanks for the info Luke… Really appreciate you taking the time.

I do have only two monitors both 23″ apples. That also leads me to this question so I understand exactly how this works.

I am using one monitor connected to the graphics card (nvidia 6800). The video desktop is enabled by default, so I left it like that.

I also have a HD Link with a 23″ apple display, but I usually keep it off when not in use, and it has not had any influence on this problem that I could notice.

Question: What is the proper way to power down or toggle on/off the HD link unit, and if power is disconnected but monitor is still physically connected, could this be part of my problem?

The screen save works, but not when video desktop is active. Could this be a glitch with the new drivers? I haven’t thought of that possibility yet.

    Best Regards,
