Use P2CMS from Panasonic, you can create new folders and export your footage into the folders. P2CMS will display the total file size of your selected clips, so you don’t end up with over 4,7g in one folder. Once you have copied the clips, then burn a DVD of each folder created. Of course if a clip is over 4.7g this will not work! You can also use a flash drive.

Not sure why you need a “P2 card image”. Using P2CMS just select the clips you want and “EXPORT” not “INGEST” them to a new folder. You can then copy, send, move this folder to what ever media you are going to send them, Hard drive, flash drive, DVD, blue ray ect… Its just data and the meta data stays with the clip.

Avid will play native P2 files, so why convert? We use the AMA Volume to look at the footage in a bin and sequence, then consolidate the footage we want to our Unity leaving the P2 files in there native format.

We print back to a DCVPROHD deck or to a Beta SX. Are you saying that I should be able to edit in draft/half mode then print to tape in Full Rez. If so what should my project setting be at? When we tried to print to tape it would want to do a transcode. By the way our AVID’s have been set up so you only have the option of editing in DNA145, could that be a problem.

    Thanks

Thanks Craig, Just a few questions. When do you do the transcode if you don’t do it when you import, is it when printing to tape? Hows the speed and are you able to edit in full rez? Are your numbered folder one per card? The “proxies” does sound interesting.

Hi Barry, It is the importing that takes so long. If you do a transcode to the Avid DNA when you import it took about 3-4x. If we ran using the native DVCProHD we didn’t have full rez output, then had to transcode to print to tape.
    Thanks

I work for a church and do a half hour TV program as well as Inhouse video’s. I currently have two edit 6 station tied together through a San system that we use for the broadcast. And one more stand alone station for church video’s. Media Management is very important for me as well as stability because I make Beta copies for the stations right off the timeline. I would like the ability for 3 station to be able to work on any project all at the same time.
    Thanks,
    Paul

Hi Alex, I remember your name for the edit forum. I am looking into purchasing 3 adrenaline systems to replace my edit 6 systems. I’m having a hard time finding reviews on this product. Can you give me the run down (non-sales) of what this system can and cannot do.
    Thanks,
    Paul
