John, as you can guess I am operating at the limit of my knowledge here. However . . .
What do you mean by “AVCHD disk”? Is a regular DVD that contains movies in AVCHD format – the disk, as I understand it, is created using UDF 2.5. These disks will play in most blu-ray players. The advantage is hi-def video on TV using standard PC burning capability.
The Panasonic utility will perform basic edits (trims only) and stitch clips together them produce such a disk relatively quickly on my system. All I want to do is perform a few more advanced edits (transitions, titles, reverses, and slow motions) then produce the same disk type. However, that is proving very difficult for a novice on Vegas.
I will look in the Panasonic section for some possible alternative clues – good idea, thanks.
