Try the interpret footage dialogue. I think its under File> Interpret footage. Also, I maybe naive on this but why can’t you drop it into a render comp that has the settings that you desire and render that out. I’d look in the after effects literature on the interpret footage. Not sure if this will help. Also quicktime can be a little finicky sometimes… do you have the latest version… have you tried playing it back in something else… blah blah..

    good luck.

ok… but could you tell me or point me to a tutorial of how to make just a simple object? I don’t know how to make even the simplest compound object…. at least I don’t think I know how… I mean… I can bring in an Illustrator file with multiple paths…I guess you make the whole “truck” or whatever as one big illustrator file and then bring it in and work on it in Zax and make sets and the like.

    hmm…

anyway.. sorry for my ignorance on this.

    cheers,

    Hi there,

I looked at your text tutorial and I’m planning on going through it to learn… learn. What I was thinking of is I saw on the COW in the past a person who had made a 3D truck all out of Zax.

Do you know how to make compound objects with Zax and how is that done?

I wish I knew more about what Zax can… and maybe more importantly what it can’t do.

I know, kind of a loaded question because it depends on the user’s experience and expertise.

    Cheers,
    Paul

Thanks for the advice. Actually I have been considering upgrading recently.

I suppose I was referring to the cooler looking one… but hey… I’m super stupid with Zax… no really.

I do have 3dsmax 5.0 but not very good at that either. A quick question. What are some good resources for learning Zax. I have the video that came with it and the user’s manual but they aren’t terribly instructive.

Total Training had a video series on Zax a few years ago but when I got around to ordering it they had pulled it.

I’ll work on making a sphere out of a spot tonight.

    Who would’ve thunk a sphere was a spot….

I’ll remember what you said about the primitive too.

    cheers,
    Paul

    Hi there,

saw the pumpkin and loved it…. is it only compatible with AE 7.0….

reason I ask is I have innvigorator Classic 3.0 for ae 6.5.1 and I do have AE 7.0 but it seems innvigorator classic is not compatible with AE 7.0.

    Thanks for any responses.

Thanks for the quick response but I do have maximize compatiblility on and I also tried the .tiff thing.. still the same problem… I’m now going to go in and look for the prefs file and delete that thing.. is that still around?

    Then I might try a reinstall…

it seems that the premiere application and something called the photoshop server were hanging and not closing… weird.

Here’s a little more on the container thing.

The code between the curly brackets are CSS Styles. You define them in
the Head and then call them in the Body.
    They’re a great way to position/layout a web page. They’re clean and
    work with most browsers.
You’re defining the attributes in the styles and then you’re placing
    your swf in a container.

Good luck and don’t hesitate to ask more questions.
    iso

Also, I did see your suggestion on the CSS and I’ll try that.

    Thanks again.

What I meant by container….. I was recently advised on a flash site that I was wanting to scale when the browser was scaled. In Dreamweaver I set it to 100% and it worked fine in IE. When previewed in Mozilla Firefox it was tiny and wouldn’t scale.

A very astute COWer mentioned the container thing and it worked. I guess I was just thinking that this might be the fix here too but I didn’t quite follow the earlier advice so was probing.

I suppose you’re right about the Mozilla pick on thingy but I’m also having problems with this site’s https://www.kdp-ne.com “Portfolio” link loading and mainly in Mozilla.

I’m not looking to pick on anything it’s just frustrating enough to get something working only to have it “kind of” work.

Thanks for your feedback on the float right… I’ll look at that. I was wanting the little button gif’s to stay to the right on the page so that’s why I did it.. probably would just get away with right align or something…. right?

I’m always very happy when someone responds because we all comment by our own free will here and that’s why I love this site.

    Cheers.

    Hey Izotrope,

I didn’t see you in the posts for a while so I thought that maybe if I responed here you’d get it in your inbox. Anyway, forms have been kicking my butt lately. I can make them in Flash and Dreamweaver but when I post them and try and call to them.. then I die.

I put them on the server in the cgi-bin and I’m using Network Solutions..they are running Perl 5.006.001 and I’m the account manager but they said that “do-it-yourself” websites don’t have any mail scripts and the like. So I’ve got the bin and been looking all over the net and finding things that say do this and that but nothing works.

    Any ideas.

    sincerly,
