Great info, Thank you! There is really not a whole lot of info about this online, is there? Do you happen to know, of a good online source, to educate myself further?

Well, my Matrox kit should arrive tomorrow. I hope, I’ll be able to make it work. Craig, as I mentioned, this is a new service I decided to add alongside my video production work. Any guideline on pricing? I know, it’s very subjective, and has a lot variables, but say a simple 1 camera, 3 hour webcast for a company, for 100 employees (viewers) nationwide…what would be the average price, you’d say based on your experience?

Thank you for the reply. The 08 MBP has the slot for SxS cards, which I used a lot. Is that the express port? I was going to do EX1SDI out, to Matrox MC – 100 mini SDI to HDMI, to Matrox Monarch. Are you using blackamgic recorder now? This is very new for me, I appreciate your help.

Hi Craig, Thank for the great info, you have provided here. We have 2014 now, and I’m setting up Sony EX1 with ustream, for webcasting / streaming services. I just ordered matrox monarch, and I own 2008 mac book pro. Not sure if I need a new mac book pro, or any other equipment, for me to be able to do this. Would you be so nice and share your knowledge and opinion on the best setup, or the one I’m using? Thank you!

Thanks everyone for helping, I guess, it could be around 10% crop. For some reason, I’ve never noticed that in the past.

There is zoom in settings on my HD TV. I just wanted to say, that I tried to change everything I could in my dvd player setting, or my TV setting, just to be sure.In any case, I can work around the action safe area, but it appears to me that that when I play the final DVD, the image appears to be zoomed in, in comparison with my original footage. I’ll update if I’ll have something new. Thank you for your help.

I just tried all of the possible setting changes on my ps3. Upscaling, letterbox, I think I tried everything, but the picture just remains zoome in, in comparison what’s in my dvd studio pro in my viewer on the computer. Don’t know what to do anymore.

Well, but even when I play with the settings on the player, the image is still zoomed in. My setting in DVD studio pro seemed to be correct, right? I have set the display mode under the general preferences to be 16:9 letterbox, 16:9, and SD under the simulator. In the inspector for the menu, and the track I chose 16:9 letterbox as well. The strange thing though is, that above the aspect ratio window is the resolution, and that is set for 720 x 480i, and you can’t change it for SD projects. Please let me know, if I’ve done something wrong, but it seems it is what it is, and I guess I just might have to move to Adobe encore perhaps?

It’s zoomed in, I’d say 10-15%, which could just be the action safe area. But the thing is that I have never had that happening before on either player (ps3, sony player) before. I had to reinstall final cut sudio, so I assume I had different setup before. The truth is though that imac plays it fine, it’s only zoomed in when I use other players. I played with the players setup, but the image is still zoomed in. Thanks for helping.

December 15, 2009 at 8:52 pm in reply to: Please Help Me..Error Media Needs To Be RestoreHi everyone,
I have the same problem, I used SDHC card – sandisk 16GB, Man hood adapter, and got media error, card needs to be restored note. I can’t mount the card, restore it, nothing. Would you be able to help and tell me how can I get my lost footage, maybe recommend a company, that would be able to do it.
Thanks,
Patrik
